Student Activities

Student Activities at Greenbriar

Student Council
Students have the opportunity to participate in Student Council in 3rd - 5th grade.  Each trimester, two representatives are chosen from each 3rd-5th grade classroom to participate.  During this time, students work together to raise school morale.  They also are immersed in the opportunity to help our community and world by developing fundraisers for the school to participate.  Student Council allows our students to develop leadership skills, work with their peers, and give back to others.  Information about Student Council activities and fundraisers through the year may be found in the Greenbriar Gazette.

Homework Club
Homework Club is available for 4th & 5th grade students from 3:30-4:15 Monday-Thursday.  This is an opportunity for our intermediate students to stay after school in a structured, quiet environment where they can begin their homework.

After School Sports
The After School Sports class meets weekly from 3:30-4:30 and serves as an extension of physical education. This is open to 4th and 5th graders during a fall, winter, and spring session.  Students participate in games, sports, and physical activities.  The focus is on sportsmanship, game strategies, rules of play, personal fitness, and fun. Information about registration is communicated through the Gazette.

Art Club
Offered twice during year, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have the option to stay after school with Mr. Blair, our art teacher, to work on extra art projects. This is an opportunity for children to have fun working independently in an open studio environment.  They may choose to draw, watercolor paint, collage, and use paper and yarn. When enrollment exceeds capacity, admittance is determined using a lottery system. Information about registration is communicated through the Gazette.

Instrumental Music
Students entering third grade may begin orchestra.  Band is open to students entering fourth grade.  For more information, visit the music education page.
